Best Time to Hike in Bangladesh
Hiking conditions shift a lot across the year. Here's what to expect in each season, at a country-wide level.
Winter (November – February)
The best overall window for hiking in Bangladesh. Cool, dry air, clear skies, and stable trail conditions make this the most popular season — expect busier trailheads on weekends in Bandarban and Sylhet.
Summer (March – May)
Hot and increasingly humid, with the occasional early pre-monsoon storm. Lowland and forest trails with shade hold up better than exposed ridgelines this time of year. Start early to avoid the midday heat.
Monsoon (June – September)
Waterfalls and rivers are at their most dramatic, but this is also the highest-risk season — flash floods, slippery clay trails, and sudden storms are common. See our Safety Guidelines before planning a monsoon hike.
Post-Monsoon (October)
Trails are at their greenest and water levels are still high, but conditions are drying out. A good transitional month — check recent trail reports before longer or more remote routes.
Planning a monsoon-season hike anyway? Read the Safety Guidelines first.
