Trail Difficulty Guide
Every route on Hike Bangla is rated Easy, Moderate, or Difficult based on total elevation gain — here's what each rating actually means.
Easy
Under 500m elevation gain
Well-marked, shorter trails suited to first-time hikers or a relaxed day out. Minimal sustained climbing.
Moderate
500m – 999m elevation gain
Longer trails with some sustained climbing. A reasonable fitness level and proper footwear help a lot here.
Difficult
1000m or more elevation gain
Multi-day treks with steep, sustained climbs. Come prepared, ideally with previous hiking experience.
Distance & Duration Matter Too
A rating is primarily based on elevation gain, but a route's distance and expected duration affect how demanding it feels in practice. A short, steep trail and a long, gradual one can carry the same rating but feel very different — use the length and elevation filters on the Routes page together to find the best match for your experience.
